IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications
8-11 September 2019 // Istanbul, Turkey

Welcome from the TPC Chairs

On behalf of the Technical Program Committee, we sincerely welcome you to the 2019 edition of the IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (IEEE PIMRC). We have the pleasure of hosting you in Istanbul – a unique city which bridges Asia and Europe. We hope that you will have a wonderful experience both from the city as well as the rich technical program. PIMRC 2019 brings together academics and industry experts from all over the world to discuss a wide array of topics, including 5G and Beyond 5G Technologies, Cross-Layer Designs, Green Communications, Security and Privacy, Software Defined Networks, to name a few.

The Technical Program of PIMRC 2019 consists of four tracks: Track 1 – Fundamentals and PHY, Track 2- MAC and Cross‐Layer Design, Track 3- Mobile and Wireless Networks and Track 4 – Services, Applications and Business, and also includes 6 special sessions. We received a total of 536 paper submissions, out of which 268 papers have been accepted for presentation, yielding an acceptance rate of 50%. Every paper went through a rigorous review process, in which each paper received at least three expert reviews. Accepted papers will be presented in 61 sessions.

In addition, our program includes 6 workshops and 6 special sessions featuring emerging topics, such as Terahertz Communication, Machine Learning for Security, and Energy Harvesting. In 5 keynotes and 7 panels of PIMRC, you will have the opportunity to hear the vision of leading academic and industry leaders on future trends.  Last, but not least, the program includes 12 tutorials by world-renowned experts for PIMRC participants who want to learn about new technologies.

It takes a lot of effort and sacrifice from many individuals to prepare a program at this scale. We sincerely thank the Track Co-Chairs who dedicated so much time and effort to manage hundreds of submissions and the Technical Program Committee members who shared their technical expertise and assisted us in reviewing papers. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Workshop Chairs, Panel Chairs and Tutorial Chairs for their invaluable work in shaping the Technical Program.

We hope you will appreciate the unique combination of a cutting-edge technical program with the wonderful experience of a historical city with modern blend. We look forward to seeing you all in Istanbul!
